Description

Kentia palms are native to Lord Howe Island in the South Pacific. These palms are also known as sentry or paradise palms.

If you love the tropical look of a palm tree but don’t live in a tropical region, then growing a kentia palm is a best choice for you.

Kentia palms have the typical large palm-shaped leaves. They can grow up to 40 feet (12 m.) in height but they are slow growers, and indoor Kentia palms typically max out in containers at fewer than 12 feet (3.6 m.).

It is also known as the Kentia palm, thatch palm or palm court palm.

The Kentia palm is actually only naturally native to Lord Howe Island, which is about 15 square kilometres in size. Over the millennia, the genus has produced only two species that are found together there.

The stunning green leaves grow directly from the stem and over time the spread of the plant increases to fill up the pot. An excellent air purifier the bamboo palm is easy to grow and maintain, it makes a great centrepiece in a quirky pot.
